Scope

Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is a dynamic and versatile field that combines the principles of computer science with engineering to design, develop, and maintain software and hardware systems.

Programme Structure

The first semester introduces students to foundational concepts in computer science and engineering. Courses include Engineering Mathematics I, which covers essential mathematical tools, and Engineering Physics and Chemistry to provide a strong scientific base. Introduction to Computer Science Engineering offers an overview of the field, while Basic Programming and Computer Fundamentals introduce key programming concepts. Communication Skills are emphasized to enhance effective expression and technical writing.

In the second semester, students advance their mathematical skills with Engineering Mathematics II and delve into Computer Organization and Architecture, which covers the internal structure and functioning of computers. Data Structures and Algorithms teach fundamental methods for organizing and manipulating data, while Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) introduces the principles of OOP and its application. Discrete Mathematics and Database Management Systems (DBMS) provide further theoretical and practical knowledge, and Computer Graphics offers insights into visual representation in computing.

The third semester focuses on deeper technical concepts, including Engineering Mathematics III and Operating Systems, which covers the software that manages hardware resources. Computer Networks introduces the fundamentals of network communication, while Software Engineering teaches methodologies for designing and managing software projects. Web Technologies explores development for the web, and Elective I allows students to choose a course of interest, enhancing their specialization.

In the fourth semester, students study Design and Analysis of Algorithms, which focuses on creating efficient algorithms. Principles of Programming Languages introduces various programming paradigms, and Compiler Design covers the process of translating programming languages. Mobile Application Development focuses on creating apps for mobile platforms, while Theory of Computation provides insights into computational theory. Elective II offers further specialization, and students continue developing their technical skills.

The fifth semester covers Advanced Database Systems, which explores complex database management topics. Computer Vision introduces techniques for interpreting visual data, while Artificial Intelligence (AI) covers the principles and applications of AI technologies. Machine Learning provides insights into creating systems that learn from data, and Elective III allows students to choose from advanced topics in computer science. Students also engage in a mini project to apply their learning in a practical setting.

During the sixth semester, students study Cybersecurity, which addresses techniques and practices for protecting systems and data. Cloud Computing introduces the use of cloud services and technologies, while Internet of Things (IoT) explores interconnected systems and devices. Big Data Analytics provides methods for analyzing large datasets, and Elective IV offers additional specialization. Students undertake an Industrial Training to gain practical experience and insights into real-world applications.

In the seventh semester, students engage in Project Work I, where they work on comprehensive projects that integrate their learning. Advanced Software Engineering covers complex software development techniques, while Data Warehousing and Mining explores techniques for managing and analyzing large data repositories. Professional Ethics and Communication prepare students for the workplace, and Elective V allows for further specialization in emerging areas of computer science.

The final semester focuses on Project Work II, allowing students to complete an in-depth project. The Dissertation provides an opportunity for original research on a chosen topic, while Advanced Topics in Computer Science covers cutting-edge developments in the field. Students also participate in an Internship to gain hands-on experience, ensuring they are well-prepared for their careers in computer science engineering.
